Simple Bodybuilding Supplements…Advanced Muscle-Building Results!
By Jeff Anderson
Accelerated advancements in muscle building over the past few years have sparked a surge supplements to help bodybuilders achieve better results faster.
However, unless you’re a lab geek, it’s virtually impossible to keep up with what’s really working, what’s hype, and whether it’s a good fit for your muscle-building program.
Fact is, “muscle-building” covers a pretty large area yet there are several factors that go into optimizing your growth…
…and specific supplements that support each of those factors.
For example, muscle is built by a combination of training hard in the gym, stimulating various muscle fibers (endurance- vs. strength- focused fibers), increasing anabolic hormones, avoiding muscle loss, getting a “pump”, etc.
So to tap into your most powerful muscle growth potential, it’s best to stack your supplements to support all of those anabolic factors.
Here’s A List Of PROVEN Bodybuilding Supplements For Each Growth Factor…
To Get Stronger: Creatine
To get stronger, you need to lift heavy weights…period.
Supplementing with creatine offers you more power during your workouts to push more plates. This in turn allows you to hit your Type II muscle fibers harder and trigger faster strength gains.
Just be sure to stay away from the fance-schmancy creatine ethyl-esther version that’s been promoted. It’s a total scam! Stick with plain old creatine monohydrate or if you’re really adventurous, creatine gluconate.
To Get A Pump: L-Arginine
Yes, the “pump” you get from your workouts DOES contribute to muscle growth! (Don’t debate me on that one – you’ll lose.)
L-Arginine is a vasodilator that increases blood flow in the body, allowing you to achieve a BIGGER pump and maintain it for longer.
Feels great…builds muscle!
To Avoid Muscle Loss: L-Glutamine + Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA’s)
Your body naturally tears down muscle tissue (called “catabolism”) as a result of your training to get to the stored amino acids locked in them.
Anti-catabolic supplements like glutamine allow you to short-circuit this muscle-wasting process and allow a shot of quickly assimilated amino acids from your BCAA’s to begin the reconstuction of your new (bigger!) muscles.
(Note: BCAA’s are found naturally in protein and may be abundent enough in your post-workout protein powder to do the job.)
To Naturally Increase Hormones: Tribulus
Studies have shown that tribulus terestris increases the testosterone precurser, leuteinizing hormone, by 70%, and in turn boosts testosterone by as much as 40%.
Those are big numbers when it comes to building muscle!
Problem is, nearly all “T-Boosters” on the market that use tribulus in their ingredients DON’T have enough of a dosage to achieve these levels.
I’ve even seen $50 bottles of “booster” supplements that you would need to take 6 TIMES the recommended dose to get enough ingredients to have any effect.
I offer my own “homemade recipe” in my “Make Your Own Supplements” program.
This formula is EASY…it WORKS…and it’s CHEAP!
As you can see, there are many ways you can supplement to build more muscle. The best approach for those who are serious about their results is to combine (“stack”) specific supplements to work synergistically and help you reach your goals faster.
